Rio Grande / Rio Bravo (249 pictures) (5 galleries)

The river of legend in the American Southwest and Mexico, the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo is a strand of water tracing over 1,800 miles from the peaks of Colorado, through the pueblos and Spanish-founded towns of New Mexico and the frontiers of Mexico and Texas.

Contested for over 400 years this fragile line through the deserts of Texas and northern Mexico continues to be mark the edge of two political worlds, yet crossed over by peoples with historic and cultural roots on both sides.
